Review on Lush Seanik shampoo bar

Hi everybody!

Today I am reviewing Lush's Seanik shampoo bar

This product costs about $12 for 1.9 oz of product.
It is said to be:

"Solid seaweed shampoo bar for shine and body

Soften tangled locks and add oceans of shine with this mineral-rich, sea salt volumizing shampoo bar. Seanik is made with nourishing ingredients from the sea: softening Irish moss seaweed and Japanese nori seaweed make your hair soft as silk from root to tips, and sea salt gives body and volume to hair that’s fallen flat. One seriously sexy shampoo, we added lemon oil for extra shine, and the exotic far eastern fragrance of sensual mimosa and jasmine oils to bathe you in the heady scent of tropical flora all day long."

What do I think of this product?
So I have used this product for at least a month and I have mixed feelings. =/ I bought this to be a drying shampoo for rainy/snow/sleet days and also because my scalp tends to be oily and I have read reviews that this bar tends to be drying.
I honestly didn't care much about the added volume and shine benefits of this bar, because that wasn't what I was looking for haha. I personally do not think it gave much shine or volume to my hair. Though, my hair is quite long now, and weighs a lot, and it is probably weighing down my hair more than the shampoo can pull it back up, if you know what I mean. So maybe it would work better for people with shorter hair.
The bar has a clean fresh scent to it, that is not strong or painful to smell (unlike the Karma Komba). However, the scent doesn't really transfer much fragrance to the hair, which I would have preferred (because I like clean and fresh scents) but didn't mind too much.
The product lathered into a rich foam, was easy to work with, did not irritate my scalp. The seaweed bits I never had a problem with them getting stuck in my hair or in the drain. They were small enough to wash down.
I enjoyed using this for the first couple of weeks, but after a while I was starting to get doubtful. My hair looked clean and non-oily, which was good, but it didn't smell clean. If I scratched my head and smelled my fingers (and I know some of you do this, don't deny it!), it smelled as if I didn't shower, that sort of oily hair smell. I also started to smell that unwashed hair smell on myself, even without scratching my head. My hair looked and felt fine/normal, but smelled dirty. Like I could sit at the computer and then move my head a bit and where my head was before, I could smell dirty hair.
I'm pretty sure I'm not imagining this or being hyperaware or sensitive about this, because I have a relatively sensitive sense of smell, and this has never happened to me before. That after showering, my hair would smell bad. At worst it would smell like nothing, which I'm totally fine with. I am not okay with my hair smelling bad or dirty, even if it is actually clean. Maybe that's how it's supposed to work? I don't know, but I don't like it. =/ And it makes me unsure of whether this shampoo properly cleaned my hair or not.....-___-
I would probably not repurchase this one again. I can use it everyday, and it won't dry my hair out, which is great, it drys it out enough that my hair won't get oily but won't make it uncomfortably dry and flaky, but I can't stand it when my hair doesn't smell clean. Big no no. Didn't work for me. I still have it, but I'll just use it on lazy days, when I'm hanging out at home or being boring and studying in the library and not socializing with people. =P

Do I recommend this product?
Assuming that this bad experience of mine was a special exception, I think this a good bar to try out. It is one of the more well know and reviewed shampoo bars out there, so it might work out better for you, especially if your hair tends to be oily.
But if you like your hair to have a smellable fragrance after showering, I don't recommend this product. Probably won't smell as fresh and cleans as you would want.

Review on Lush Karma Komba Solid Shampoo!

It's February! Time flies!

Today I am reviewing Lush's Karma Komba Solid Shampoo

This product can be bought online or at Lush stores. It is about 2.0 oz and cost $12.
Long story short, the description is online, it's too long for me to write down and the effect that it had for my hair was different than my experience, so I wouldn't find it too helpful. =P

What do I think of this product?
Now, I have always been very skeptical of Lush. To me it was a ridiculous smelling store that was very expensive. =P I still kind of think that way, but now I feel that their products may be worth it for some people.
I tried to use Head and Shoulder's regular shampoo and it gave me the most oily and greasy hair ever. -__- Fail, I hate you Head and Shoulder's, I used you for 12 years of my life and now you suck. Such a disappointment....anyway.
I went with a friend to Lush, she is a Lush lover, and recommended this one for oily hair. My hair is not as oily as it used to be, after puberty, the skin and scalp get less oily, but I currently had oily hair from Head and Shoulders, and I do get oil buildup, especially if I do not shower. Because of that, I usually have to shower everyday. So, I was like, what the heck, sure I'll try it. =P

I have also been very skeptical of solid shampoo, but now I see that it really works!
So, yes this is totally made for oily hair. This is very very good at getting rid of product and oil buildup in hair, lathers up well, and does not irritate my skin or scalp! It does have a very very strong fragrance, which....I am not fond of. I took one whiff of it, and started coughing like I had an asthma attack or something....not good. Also, the fragrance will stay in the hair all day, it's not as strong in the hair, but I can definitely smell it on me all day. It is a kind of flora scent, a unique flora scent....sorry, can't describe well.
After using this, my scalp feels so clean and oil free! It's great! I also don't have to use my blow dryer on it for long because it makes my hair dry a lot faster. I can even not wash my hair everyday because this really cleans my hair very well and prevents it from getting so oily! It's great for lazy weekends when I'm not doing anything and I'm just studying or at home. =P
However, I can't use this everyday, if I do, then it starts drying out my scalp. So I end up using it about 3 times a week, switching it off with my "The Body Shop" Ginger Scalp Care shampoo. If I do use it more often, after I rinse it out, I will rub my Super Mild Hair and Scalp Mask into my scalp to prevent my scalp and hair from getting too dry.
Being winter, this was probably not the best time to try a shampoo that has a tendency to dry out my hair, but it is very good at deep cleansing my hair when I need to, and solved my oily hair from Head and Shoulders without me having to use tons of my other shampoo to rinse it out.
I also use this on rain days and snow days, so that my hair doesn't get damp and musty smelling.

I am looking forward to use this during the summer, where it is very hot and very humid, and I feel so gross and disgusting from the humidity. I think that this will be a lifesaver for me when the time comes. Also, this would be great when I go to Asian countries during the summer because those places are super hot and humid too, and I think it will help prevent my hair from getting too oily, damp, and sticky in that environment. (You can buy a travel tin for it too)
FYI, after using, take this out of the shower, or put it in a tupperware, if you leave it in the shower, the bar will dissolve and you will lose product very fast.
The only thing about this product is that it is kind of expensive. It is supposed to last for 2 months or so, depending how much and often I use it. Because I don't use it everyday, I think it'll last longer than that, so hopefully that makes it worth it. Overall, pretty impressed, it worked well without any skin irritation and I like the results! =D

Do I recommend this product?
If you have very oily hair or you are traveling or living in an area that is very humid, I highly recommend this product, but, please be aware it has a very strong fragrance. If you don't like things with strong fragrance, I don't recommend this, it will hurt your nose. =P But maybe you could just use less of it and it would not be as potent.

Review on Shiseido Super Mild Hair and Scalp Mask =)

Today I am reviewing Shiseido's Super Mild Hair and Scalp Mask

This product cost about $13-14 and contains 200 grams of product. This can be found in Mitsuwa, Marukai Living/Lifestyle, and online on Amazon for free shipping.

What do I think of this product?
So ever since moving to the East Coast, and experiencing real winter (haha) I have to blow dry my hair after showering before I go out, or else I'll feel very miserable with wet hair in 30-40F weather and possibly get sick.
I feel that blow drying my hair everyday was not something my hair was used to and it started to look and feel dry. =/
I wanted to find something that would help moisturize my hair, including the hair on my head and scalp. I do get very oily and greasy hair if I do not shower everyday and generally it is not advised to put conditioner on the hair closest to the scalp because they should be moisturized by my natural scalp oils and not need conditioning, and if I put conditioner in my hair, it gets oily quickly.
But I wanted something that would help re-hydrate all of my hair and scalp but not make my hair oily or greasy.
I have tried the Super Mild Shampoo and Conditioner before and I find them to be very gentle and nourishing so when I found this, I was very excited to try it out!
This product does not irritate my scalp nor does it make it feel or look greasy or oily. A little goes a long way and I don't use a lot on my head. I don't find it as moisturizing for the ends of my hair, because it is more of a light hair mask, not as thick or heavy. But I am happy to just use this as a hair mask for my scalp and the top of my head. I have other alternatives for the dry ends of my hair.
This makes my hair feel very soft and smooth and not as dry and itchy as it was before and I really like it! I don't use it everyday because I am trying to save product and I probably use it every other day.
Once the weather starts warming up, I probably won't need this anymore when I no longer need to blow dry my hair, but I find this a great addition for my winter haircare. =)

Do I recommend this product?
I believe that if you have a dry scalp and you need additional moisture and you are looking for something gentle, non-heavy, and light, I recommend this product! Or if you are in an environment that is very dry and/or windy or you find your scalp and hair starting to dry out like me from constant blow drying, I also recommend this product. =)
If you have very oily or greasy hair, I'm not sure if this will work for you. I have recently tried a shampoo that is specialized for oily hair (my hair is not very oily, but the oils do build up and I need to wash them out from time to time) and I will do a review on that! A heads up, so far I really like it! ^_^

Review on "The Body Shop" Ginger Scalp Care Shampoo!

Today I am reviewing "The Body Shop" Ginger Scalp Care Shampoo

This product costs $10 (though is currently on sale for $6) and contains 13.5 fluid oz or 400mL of product. It is said to:

Stop flakes and soothe your scalp using a gentle, yet effective shampoo with refreshing ginger for healthy, more manageable locks.

• Ginger root, birch bark, white willow and oak moss, known for their astringent properties, help to promote a healthy scalp.
• Community Trade organic honey moisturizes and conditions hair and adds shine.
• Panthenol nourishes and strengthens hair, reducing breakage and split ends.product

What do I think of this product?

So I have used Head and Shoulders for many years, I think ever since I hit puberty around 13 or so, so like 10 years O_O, I started to use Head and Shoulders and it worked very well for me, stopping itchiness, dandruff, and oil buildup in my hair. For some reason, it has not worked for me after I moved to the East Coast and leaves an oily film/residue in my hair. I have written a more detailed explanation at the end of this post. Don't want to make you read a ton of crap on my personal thoughts of why I think it stopped working for me. =P

So, I decided to try this shampoo out, it has many positive reviews and I do like The Body Shop so why not?

This is such a lovely product (let's be British! lol jk, but seriously, it's awesome). It has a sort of sweet ginger scent, not the well known spicy ginger smell or taste than many people know. I like ginger, I use it in my cooking and drink it in my tea, so I like it. If you are not a fan of ginger, this might not be for you, but it is a mild and much sweeter scent, and not that sharp.

It does not irritate my scalp and helps sooth my itchy and sensitive skin! Most of all, it does not leave a disgusting oily residue on my head and my hair is once again soft and fluffy ^_^. As for dandruff, I'm not sure if I have a dandruff problem anymore actually. XP I did have it when I hit puberty, but I got so accustomed to using anti-dandruff products, that I just kept on using them without stopping to see if I had too much dandruff or not. Nevertheless, dandruff will build up over time, during the day, and each day when I don't shower (hence, I shower everyday), so I think it helps with dandruff. As for severe dandruff, I am not an expert on that, but you are welcome to try it! There are also many positive reviews on its anti-dandruff properties online, so it's probably decently effective. (no guarantees though, lol)

I am just so glad that I do not have any residue in my hair and my hair feels wonderful, soft, non-oily, and clean again!!

Personal thoughts on why Head and Shoulders doesn't work for me anymore?

I say "anymore?" because I'm not sure if it was that particular version of the shampoo that caused the oily residue. Perhaps another version of Head and Shoulders is fine, I don't know. Won't try until I run out of this new one haha.

1) I have heard that Head and Shoulders has a new formula. Perhaps this formula does not work well with my hairtype/scalp, or if it tends to leave an oily residue.

2) I used a combo shampoo and conditioner Head and Shoulders as my shampoo, and perhaps the conditioner part of it was too oily/moisturizing for my scalp and caused oiliness. Though I'm not sure about this, because I have used combo shampoo/conditioner Head and Shoulders before without a problem.

4) I have heard that shampoos with silicone in them tend to leave an oily residue, especially hair products with softening and moisturizing properties. I did look at the ingredients and the Head and Shoulders I used did have more silicone-based products than The Body Shop one.

5) Perhaps the much hotter and humid weather has affected my hair and/or scalp, or how my hair/scalp works with the shampoo. Maybe because it is so wet here (compared to a very dry [and now drought-ridden] California), I don't need as much moisturizing benefits for my hair/scalp as before. (Though my skin seems to be fine with the same hydrating products that I used in California).

Whatever the reason, the best recommendation is to usually change and switch up shampoos. After I finish the Ginger shampoo I will try the Head and Shoulders again. I have also reordered my Jojoba Hair Shampoo and will use it interchangeably with my Head and Shoulders. I hope that will work out, because...I have half a bottle and another full body of Head and Shoulders combo shampoo/conditioner and I don't want to waste them.....T_T. If they really don't work, I'll try the Head and Shoulders shampoo only and see how that goes!

Do I recommend this product?

If you have been having issues with itchy sensitive scalp with or without dandruff, I highly recommend this product! There are 2 volume sizes, so if you want to just try it, you can go for the smaller and cheaper size. This is also great if you are having problems with your old shampoo like me and want to switch things up!

I have so little free time, that when I do get it, I try to spend time with my friends and extended family in order to stay sane. =P Or go to gym, and do something productive and healthy for myself.

My skincare and makeup routine has become very basic now. I don't use masks and serums that often and stick with a good cleanser, regular gentle exfoliation, acne spot treatment and always sunscreen. My makeup was already pretty simple (no foundation, no concealer, no bronzer, no blush, no lip color....lol) But now I don't put on make up on weekends, I think of it as a break for my skin as well as an extra 10 minutes of sleep!

As for my fashionYoutube videos, I will go on hiatus until I graduate for my program. Yes, I know that may be disappointing but I need to make sacrifices if I want to go to medical school. =P Filming, taking pictures, and editing take a lot of time and I don't have that kind of time anymore. Once you get to professional/grad school, you will understand/feel my pain too. XP

Review on L'Occitane Aromachologie Hair Repairing Oil

Today I am reviewing the L'Occitane Aromachologie Hair Repairing Oil

It contains 100mL or 3.4 fluid oz of product. You can buy this product at the L'Occitane stores or online for $26.
This is a leave-in hair treatment. You can apply it on your hair dry, or after washing your hair but before blow drying, or before washing your hair.
This product gives hydration and shine to dry and brittle hair. It makes your hair softer and protects against sun damage.

What do I think of this product?
I first got this product as a travel sample from L'Occitane. I brought it with me on my trip to Taiwan and Japan over winter break of 2013-2014. And it was phenomenal! Back then, I had hair reaching down to my butt and the lower half was especially dry and damaged. When I first applied it, I accidentally (or so I thought) put too much product in my hair and that it would become an oily mess. But my hair did not look or feel oily at all! It just drank all of the product and was silky soft with a beautiful shine! *o*
It also has a floral fragrance that is not sharp, strong, or fake smelling.
When I came back to the states, I wanted to buy this product immediately! But when I saw the original price, I wasn't sure and held back. Being a student and trying to save money, it may have been a good investment but still, a pricy investment. So I waited until I was able to get a 20% off discount coupon and bought it! (L'Occitane doesn't have discounts often and they're usually not amazing, so I just took this chance)
After 3 months of using this product everyday, I must say, it is definitely worth it, even at the original price.
The bottle is made of 100% recycled plastic. It is not glass and more travel friendly (though unfortunately not 3 oz). It comes with a pump which makes using it fast, easy and not messy. I can also control the amount of product I dispense with the pump.
I used 2 pumps when I had very long hair and after my hair donation and hair cut, I use 1 pump every morning. A little goes a long way and in these 3 months I've only used 1/3 of the bottle!
The oil is very mistake friendly. If you accidentally use a little too much, your hair will not look or feel oily, greasy, or sticky.
I like to apply this on my hair after I shower and towel dry my hair. I spread the oil in my palms and rub it on the lower half of my hair and wipe off the remaining product on the top and upper part of my hair. This oil is great for helping me de-tangle my hair as I brush to spread out the product. The oil helps reduce friction and possible straining and snapping of the hair strands.
This has done wonders for my hair. It has become so soft, smooth, and shiny after using this hair oil. I have gotten complements from friends on how healthy and great my hair looks and it's all because of this thing here!
I will definitely repurchase this product once I use it up, but I will try to get a coupon too. =P

Do I recommend this product?
If you have dry and brittle hair or if you want to give your hair an extra boost, I definitely recommend this product!
It is long lasting, you don't need much, it is easy to use and can be used in different ways, and makes the hair softer, smoother, and shinier!

Haircut!

So, I got a haircut! =O

My hairstylist is Sonia, and she is amazing. She is so far the only person who listens to me and understands exactly what I want! Such a professional!

Side story: When I wanted to grow my hair out very long, I always told previous stylists to cut 1 cm at most. My god, they would cut like 1-2 inches off! Pissed me off! But not Sonia! She is excellent! Trims the shortest length possible, gets rid of split ends and makes it seem as if I never got a haircut!

My Story
I started growing my hair out in the middle of college, and it has grown to this length after 2.5 years. I trimmed it every 3-4 months to maintain hair health and cut split ends. I had to cut off a couple inches twice first due to burning my hair in my research lab, and second due to sun and bleach damage from swimming at the pool too often.
Throughout this time I never blow dried it until this past month and always let it air dry. (My hair had become so long to the point that I needed to blow dry it so it wouldn't become an ugly wet tangled mess). I never colored it, never did a perm, I probably used hot tools on it about a dozen times, yes, really very little, in the past 2.5 years and I ate healthy, used hair treatments and oils to keep my hair strong and hydrated.

So there are some reasons why I wanted to cut my hair. Yes, it was beautiful and sexy ;P, but everything comes with a price. =P
1) I always wanted to donate my hair. It's not only a considerate act for people who lost their hair due to chemotherapy, but it was just something that I always wanted to do, just because. =P
2) I always wanted to grow my hair down to my butt, or at least reaching the top of my butt/end of tailbone. And I reached that goal, yay!
3) It was inconvenient to have such long hair. I had to braid it every night before bed, otherwise it would get tangled. I had to brush it throughout the day because, again, it got easily tangled. I had to be careful when I reached to pick something off the ground otherwise my hair would touch the ground. I had to be careful when going to the restroom so my hair wouldn't touch the toilet or, god forbid, go into the toilet. =P Etc. etc.
4) Another reason why I grew my hair out so long, was that I wanted to have fun styling it, in like beautiful long curls, and what not. And then I realized, that I was a pre-med student and I had no time for that and I rarely did anything to my hair, let alone curl it! And when you have very long hair, your arms and fingers get really tired when you're styling. =P
5) Going along with a mix of reason #3 and 4, I will be going out of state possibly for a pre-medical master's program this year, which means moving and then intense studying, which means, even less time or no time to deal with my hair while taking courses alongside med students.
6) And finally, it is just good for my hair to get a nice cut. All the old hair, despite taking good care of it, is still old, and dryer and thinner than newer hair closer to my scalp. So, it is healthy for my hair.

I still love long hair and I do plan to grow it longer than this, but I may not grow my hair as long as it was ever again. A little sad but I'm glad I got to do this at least once in my life, a good experience with many compliments along with it and what not.

I am in a period in my life where my career is most important to me so I will do what is necessary to make my life easier to focus more on my work.
Growing my hair to this length, took me a lot of patience and time, and by the end I was was happily looking forward to my haircut. =P My head feels super light! O_O Like, amazingly light! I might have dropped a couple pounds after cutting all that hair! XD haha. I miss my long hair, but it's okay, it'll grow back =)

Review on Essential Intensive Treatment Pack from Japan

Today I am reviewing one of the products I bought in Japan.
I'm sorry but I don't quite remember the proper name of the product but I'll give a very similar description.

Today I am reviewing the Essential Intensive Treatment Pack

I'm sorry but I don't remember the price however since I bought it, it must be pretty affordable.
This treatment pack comes with 4 tubes about 4-5 inches long. It is said to treat dry and damaged hair.

Directions: Apply to hair before showering starting from the hair at the ears all the way to the tips of the hair. Emphasize product on the ends of the hair. Keep in hair for 5 minutes and then rinse off while shampooing.

What do I think of this product?
I wanted to try this product because the winter was quite cold and dry in Japan and when I returned to the US it was very hot and dry with the Santa Ana winds. As a result my hair became more dry and brittle.
 Don't underestimate the tubes, they make look small but they can definitely cover a lot of hair! My hair from the shoulders down is about 15 inches long, and it was able to to cover all of it!
I think this is a pretty good product overall. The formula is more watery than thick so it can be applied easily to dry hair. I don't recommend to put it on wet hair because it tends to become very slippery and can slip off. This product helped strengthen and protect my hair a lot. My hair became less damaged and brittle. I am able to brush my hairs without breaking a lot of strands.
However, this product did make my hair quite dry actually, so I always used conditioner after rinsing it off and after that there is no problem.
I already used up all of the tubes and I wish I bought more =(, but I'm glad it was a product that helped my hair!

Do I recommend this product?
If you have thin, damaged, and brittle hair that snaps easily I recommend this product! Dont go crazy looking for it or buying it for a ridiculous price. If you can get your hands on it for an affordable price, try it! It will help strengthen and protect your hair! I do advise using conditioner after rinsing this hair treatment off so your hair won't become too dry.

So, I hope that my review was helpful to you! I'm sorry if you do not live in Asian because I understand it is harder to get your hands on products out of your country. However, if you ever see this product or are able to get your hands on it, I hope my review helped you at the time.

Review on Oshima Tsubaki Camellia Hair Care Oil

Today I am reviewing the Oshima Tsubaki Camellia Hair Care Oil 

This product can be found online at Amazon for $18.40 with prime shipping and contains 60mL or 2 oz. of product.
It is said that this product is 100% natural, made from the Tsubaki, or Camellia flower and has oleic acids that are extremely compatible with our own skin.
Directions: Massage a few drops into damp clean hair ends to nourish dry hair, split ends, and dull strands. Style as usual.

What do I think of this product?
I bought this product about 5 months ago, but I did not use it during the summer because the summer heat makes my hair more oily than normal and I didn't want to put it in my hair at the time.
I started using this when the weather got colder and drier.
This product is great for re-hydrating dry hair and protecting it from dry weather. It makes my hair very soft, smooth and shiny! I also think that it helps strengthen my hair, especially the more brittle ends. Also this product does not irritate my skin and is fragrance free!
A little goes a long way, and I mean it! This is a very intense oil for hair care, a few drops is definitely enough for the lower third of my hair.
I do follow the directions to put it into damp clean hair, because it protects my hair from the heat when I am blow drying it. However this does work well in clean dry hair too! Just make sure to start off with very small amounts and spread it well by brushing it out.
For the best even overall application, put a few drops into the palm of your hand, rub your hands together to spread the product all of your hands. Then massage and comb your hands through the lower part of your hair. Finally use a brush to brush your hair, starting at the ends and gradually brushing higher. This way you spread the product in your hair better and most of the oil is kept at the ends of the hair, where hair is the oldest, driest, and most damaged.
At most, put the oil in the lower half of your hair, and only near the ends if you have shorter hair that is closer to your face. You do not want the oils to stick onto your face and make your face oily and sticky.
The only problem that some people may have with this product is that you do need to use your hands to apply, and because the oil is so strong, it is a bit difficult to wash the oil off your hands. I personally don't mind because I wear disposable latex gloves whenever I use this product, so after application, I'll just throw away the gloves.

Do I recommend this product?
If you don't mind the application process (which may take some time or need of washing oil off your hands), then I recommend this product! Just please remember to start off with very little product. This is not like most oils and serums for the hair, a little is enough for a lot of hair! 
I can use a quarter size of l'occitane hair oil, no problem, and it makes my hair soft, and shiny. But if I use the same amount or even half that amount with the Tsubaki hair oil, my hair will become a greasy mess!
Because you use so little product, this oil will last you a very long time! And I find it pretty affordable for the amount.

Essential Nuance Airy Ultra Honey Hair Mask

This product can be bought online on Sasa for $9.40. It contains 200mL of product. This product is supposed to prove intense hydration, strengthening, and softening to hair as well as leaving the hair feeling light and airy. It is supposed to give all moisturizing benefits for hair without weighing it down.

What do I think of this product?
I bought this product to compare it to the Essential Rich Premier Hair Mask to see if there was a different. The Nuance Airy is supposed to maintain the lightness of the hair while giving essentially the same benefits as the Rich Premier, but not weighing the hair down with heavy products.
I have finished the contain in a month. I tend to use hair masks more often during the winter since the cold and dry weather is more damaging to my hair.
The result is that I found no difference compared to the Rich Premier version. They both produce the same results for me, making my hair very soft and smooth as well as giving a lot of hydration and protection to the hair, which is good =)
But the Nuance Airy does not make my hair feel more light-weight than the Rich Premier. So in that aspect, it did not live up to what it said. But keep in mind that my hair is quite long, and perhaps because my hair is so long, that its own weight is enough to pull down my hair and nothing can keep it that light and lifted. =P

Do I recommend this product?
Despite the fact that it did not make my hair more light-weight, I recommend this product. It still has great benefits for the hair. It makes the hair really soft and silky and helps moisturize the hair.
I recommend both hair masks, they are both very good!

My Beauty Diary Dark Circles Intensive Care Eye Mask

This product contains 5 sets of eyemasks for $8.50 online at Sasa. It is said to rehydrate the skin around the eyes and get rid of dark circles. It is also said to brighten the eye area.

What do I think of this product?
The masks are 2 paper sheets soaked with serum. The formula does not irritate or redden the skin around my eyes.
I found that this eye mask is great for de-puffying puffy eyes! If you rub your eyes too much, or if you're eyes are swollen from other irritation or crying, this will de-puff your eyes right away! It also has a cooling effect that will comfort your eyes if they are red and hot from being puffy. Also, it does a great job of hydrating the skin around my eyes and brightens them a little.
However, this eye mask does not work that well for my dark circles. That does not concern me too much, since I believe that the only way to cure dark circles is to just get plenty of sleep.

Do I recommend this product?
If you want to get rid of puffy eyes or if you want more hydration around your eyes, then I recommend this product! This reduces puffy eyes very quickly and easily!
Just a warning, I don't advise using eye masks if you have puffy eyes from: pink eye, burns, or an allergic reaction. If you have any of those, just use a cool wet towel on your eyes! Please remember than skincare products are not medical products, and may contain things that could make your skin worse. If you have any puffiness from things such as pink eye, burns, or allergic reactions please go see a doctor or dermatologist.

Review on Degrease Organic Rosemary, Peach Kernel and Jojoba Hair Shampoo

Today I am reviewing the Degrease Organic Rosemary, Peach Kernel and Jojoba Hair Shampoo:

This product costs about $18 on Amazon with Amazon Prime. It contains 8 oz or 235mL of product.
This product is said to help reduce scalp irritation, itchiness and control and reduce oil product for greasy hair.
Directions: Rinse hair, apply a quarter-sized amount throughout the scalp. Allow your head to absorb the therapeutic benefits for three minutes, followed by a rinse and repeat if needed.

What do I think of this product?
I used this product for about a month and finished it. My main shampoo is Head and Shoulders for my scalp itchiness and greasiness. However, there was a period of time that my Head and Shoulders shampoo was not helping a lot and my scalp still felt sensitive, irritated and itchy.
So, I decided to try this product.
The product is kept in dark bottle to protect the ingredients from sunlight. The formula is a more runny/liquid formula, not that thick and it lathers into a light foam. It smells a lot like a mixture of plants and herbs, and so your head will smell a little like that too. But I don't mind.
I bought this product primarily to help with my scalp irritation, sensitivity and itchiness, not for oil reduction and oil control. This product worked very well for my scalp. It did not irritate it in any way and it calmed down my skin a lot. By the time I finished it, my scalp was no longer itchy and sensitive. =)
As for oil reduction and control, I honesty did not see much change. I do get oily hair at the end of the day normally but it is only obvious if I have second day unwashed hair (that is why I wash my hair everyday). Therefore, at least for me, the degreasing properties of this shampoo were not significant. However, if you have more oil problems, then this might work for you.
I did find this product a little pricy, but it worked well for me. Because of the price, I tried not to do a second rinse and repeat and extend the product use for as long as I could. Applying it once was good enough for me, but for those with more irritated or oily scalps, a second application and rinse is recommended.
After using this product I went back to my Head and Shoulders and currently have no scalp problems. However, if the sensitivity, irritation, and itchiness ever return, I will be sure to repurchase this product again.
I do especially like it that it is natural and organic, so there are no strange chemicals in the shampoo and for those of you who prefer and enjoy organic products, this would be a good thing to try.

Do I recommend this product?
If you do not mind the price and you have itchy, sensitive, and/or oily scalp, then I recommend this product. I think that it will definitely help with itchiness and irritation. 
However, for oil reduction and control I cannot say because it did not do much for me. However, my hair oiliness may not be as severe as some people, which is possibly why I did not see a significant change/result.
It can easily be found online and the pluses are that it is natural and organic!

Review on the Lucido-L Designing aqua Hair Arranging Lotion (Free) Hairspray =D

Today I am reviewing the Lucido-L Designing aqua Hair Arranging Lotion (Free) Hairspray!

I got this product from a friend so I do not know the price. However, a lot of Lucido-L products can be found in Takashima, Marukai, and Mitsuwa.
It contains 180mL of product.

What do I think of this product?
So, I got this hairspray from a friend. She told me it was a great everyday light hairspray that would not damage my hair. I don't know why they call it a lotion. It is suppose to allow you to mold and shape your hair after you spray, but it's definitely a spray, not a lotion. =P
I really like this hairspray! It does not have strong holding power which is something I prefer. It does not have a strong smelly fragrance like a lot of hairsprays have. It does have a light fruity/flora fragrance which I don't mind.
This is the kind of hairspray that is good for light fixes and touch-ups. For example, if my bangs are not sitting the way I want them, this is good to shape them the way I like. Or if there are fly-away strands of hair or hair sticking up from my head. =P
As I said earlier, this is not a strong hairspray. Do not expect this to hold curls all day and it will not fix hairstyles for windy days. It is good for light touch-ups and if you are outside and it is not windy or raining or it's good if you are indoors such as work or class.
This hairspray does not damage my hair at all or leave sticky or hard-to-wash residues on my hair. It does not make my hair hard, shiny, or crispy and I do not use a lot. Probably 3-5 spritzs are good enough for me.
Overall I think this is a good hairspray for my purposes of light fixes and taming fly-aways, and great for everyday use. =)

Do I recommend this product?
If you are looking for a light hairspray to use everyday, I recommend this hairspray! It is not as harmful as the stronger hairsprays and does not make hair crispy or hard after use.
However, if you are looking for a strong-holding hairspray to make sure your hairstyle stays put and your curls don't fall, then this is not the right product for you.

Review on Essential Rich Premier Treatment for Hair

I hope your week is going well. And if you are in the UC system in California, this is the first week of school, yay! =P

Today I am reviewing the Essential Rich Premier Treatment

It contains 400mL of product. It costs $7.80 at the Sasa online store and is between $10-14 in stores in the US. You can find this in stores such as Takashima, Marukai, and Mitsuwa.
This product is said to treat all hairtypes and hair that is very dry and damaged from heat, dyes, perms, etc. It is said to help repair hair, and give extra strength, moisture, and shine.
Directions: Apply to shampooed hair. Massage gently. Rinse thoroughly.

What do I think of this product?
So, I really really like the Essential Rich Premier Ultra Honey & Shea Butter hair mask (which I still have and use), however I wanted to try this product for two reasons. First, I just wanted to try something else from the same brand. Second, hair mask cost in the US started to skyrocket! It rose to $22 and is now $27 which is a ridiculous price. I don't mind buying from Sasa (which is much cheaper) but shipping, shipping costs, or free shipping with a certain minimum is annoying.
This is a very creamy product that has a strong flowery and fruity fragrance. I really like the smell of this product. I also really like the container. It is a squeezable tube that dispenses easily and cleanly. It is less messy than the Essential Rich Premier hair mask which comes in a jar and I need to use my hands to scoop product out and then have a hard time screwing the lid back on. (all while in the shower =P)
So, I really wanted make this product work. However, it did not give me the results that I wanted. I have very long hair which is quite old and dry at the ends. I was hoping that this would produce the same results as the hair mask version, however, it was not enough. =( To me, this is similar to a deep conditioner. It is in between a moisturizing conditioner and a hair mask. It still helps my hair and makes it soft and shiny but not as soft or healthy as the hair mask.
For the hair mask I would need to use only 1-2 times per week for shiny soft hair, and for this product I would probably need to use it 3-4 times per week for the same results.
Overall, I am happy that it is cheaper in the US and still does good to my hair, strengthening it and giving it softness and shine. However, it is not strong enough for my purposes. I am not sure if I will buy it again. I am currently finishing my second bottle, (I bought the 2nd one to try to make this product work for me) and I will not repurchase anytime soon. However, I am considering to get this when I travel because the container is much more travel-friendly than the hair mask version.

Do I recommend this product?
I recommend this product if your hair is normal to somewhat dry. This will definitely do the job for you. However, if your hair is very dry and/or damaged, I would suggest a stronger product such as the Essential hair mask or the Shiseido hair mask.

Review on CHI Haircare and Styling Trial/Travel-size Set

Today I am reviewing a travel size set of hair products from CHI. I was not buying it to travel with but more to try out the products to find out if I liked them or not before buying the full sizes!

This set cost me $15 at TJ-Max. There were 4 products in the package including a description manual that was wayyy too long and detailed for my eyes. =P

-CHI infra shampoo (
Directions: apply a nickle size into wet hair and work evenly from scalp to hair ends, rinse and repeate if desired
-CHI infra treatment 
Directions: after shampooing, apply a generous amount into wet hair evenly, leave on hair for 2-5 minutes and rinse thoroughly
-CHI silk infusion
Directions: apply a small amount and work through hair evenly, leave in a proceed with styling
-CHI 44 iron guard spray
Directions: section hair and spray evenly over dry hair and then follow with your desired heat tool

What do I think of these products?
CHI infra shampoo and CHI infra treatment
So I tried these two product in conjunction with each other, because it is recommended. Unfortunately I had to stop only after 2 days of use because I got an allergic skin reaction from using them. =(
But first, before talking about the skin problem, let's talk about the product. The CHI infra shampoo is said to gently cleanse the hair and correct the moisture balance of the hair and scalp. It is fortified with proteins to strengthen the hair.
Even though I only used these products for 2 days. The infra shampoo felt like an average normal shampoo with no special benefits. Yes, it cleaned my hair but I didn't feel anything unique or special from it.
After I used this shampoo, I used the infra treatment, which is said to moisturize the hair, reconstruction the inner structure of the hair and improve the hair's strength and elasticity. So after using it for a couple of days, I felt it did not moisturize my hair much. It tends to make my hair a little sticky and I feel that it makes my hair more tangled after showering when I brush my hair. O_o....
So about the allergic reaction, after using both of these products for a couple of days (and not using anything else different or new), my scalp started to feel itchy. And soon the itchiness spread to the back of my neck, my shoulders, my upper back and also I got slightly painful, itchy and swollen hands. Be aware that these areas are the areas where my skin is in contact with the infra shampoo and infra treatment on my hair. So, I think I can reasonably assume that my skin reaction was from one of these or both of these products.
Sorry for writing a review of these products that I only used for 2 days, but I did not want to use it afterwards, and even after stopping for a few days, I am still itchy and still on antihistamines. =/

CHI silk infusion
So I have actually already written a review on this product and you can click on this link for a more complete and detailed review.
Overall, I love this product. I like to use it as my heat protectant on dry hair before I straighten or curl my hair. It does not irritate my skin, smells wonderful, and makes my hair silky, shiny, and smooth!!
I always buy and use the travel size because this is a very intense stay on hair oil/conditioner and I only need less than a quarter-size amount for my long hair.
Also, I recommend that you use this only on the ends or lower half of your hair. Applying it on your head can give your hair an oily appearance, especially if you tend to product a lot of oils like me.

CHI 44 iron guard spray
So, to be honest I have not used or tried this product. The reason I have not is because I have used it on others when I do their hair (because they own the product) and I do not like it.
I actually have doubts if this actually protects hair from heat tools. I realize that if I spray too much by section, it tends to make the hair very sticky and easily tangled. However, if I don't spray enough, it does not protect the hair from heat, and the hair will still get dried out.
Also, I do not like the smell of this product. It smells kind of sharp and painful to me.
If you are going to use this product, don't spray a lot and maybe don't spray onto very dry hair, have it barely damp, spray, and brush out evenly, and maybe it won't make your hair sticky or tangled.

Do I recommend any of these products?
So, of all the products, I only highly recommend CHI silk infusion. This product I know will help protect hair from hot tools, and help make your hair silky, shiny, and soft.
The three other products, I am unsure about, especially since I do not think that they do much for the hair or have significant improvement, and that they might possibly make your hair more tangled and sticky. (I have heard a variety of reviews on the infra shampoo and infra treatment and people either hate it or love it, and even though it is said to work for all hair types, this does not seem the case) Therefore I do not recommend CHI infra shampoo, infra treatment, and the 44 iron guard spray and I think you can find something better.

Review on Aussie Hair Insurance Leave-in Conditioner Spray

Today I am going to review the Aussie Hair Insurance Leave-in Conditioner!

This product can be found at any drugstore and costs about $3 to $4. It contains 8 fluid oz or 236mL of product. It is said to leave hair soft and protected.

Direction: Spritz onto clean, damp hair and work throughout. Don't rinse.

What do I think of this product?
I have been using this stay-in conditioner spray for a few months now. I like it because I like how Aussie is a very affordable and easy to find brand. This spray is great for me because I am super busy in the morning, and I don't have a lot of time. So, I spray this into my hair after I wash and towel dry it, brush it to spread out the product, and then I am done! (Yes, I do not blow dry my hair, I am super lazy!)
I think this spray does a pretty good job of making my hair soft and silky. It also helps detangle my hair a bit when I'm brushing out the product. It does not give my hair shine, but it never said it would, so I'm not holding them against that.
However, if I spray too much, it can make my hair a little sticky. So, I would recommend light to moderate use, depending on your hair type and how much hair you have. I have long hair, so I use about 8 spritz every morning after showering. I tend to spray the lower half of my hair because that hair is older, drier, and more damaged than the hair closer to my head, which is newer and healthier. Also, in general, I don't like to use conditioning products on the hair on my head (or near my scalp) because it tends to make my hair oily/greasy.
Another that may bother some people (it did bother me a lot in the beginning, because I didn't use it  for a month after buying it) is the fragrance. This spray has a very very strong sweet fragrance. It smells like...candy...which is a little too much for me. Luckily, the smell isn't that strong after application (especially in damp hair) and fades throughout the day, so it is okay. But, when you first use it, just remember, it smells strongly like candy! XD And of course, the less you spray, the less strongly it smells. Of course, if you like fragrances like this, then obviously, it's fine haha.
Overall, I do like this leave-in conditioner spray, it works well for the price and my hair is softer. I would not buy this product again, but I am glad I bought this for such a low affordable price!

Do I recommend this product?
If you do not mind the fragrance and as long as you don't spray too much in your hair, I recommend this product. It is affordable, easy to find, and great for those of you who want to do a quick and easy conditioner treatment after showering. Please keep in mind that while it does make hair softer, it does not give shine, or not much of it!

Review on Living proof Prime Style Extender

Hi Everybody!

Today I will be talking about the "Living proof" prime style extender!

This product can be found online or at Sephora. It costs $20 and contains 5.0 fluid oz or 148 mL of product.
The product is designed for all hair types. It is supposed to feel light and weightless, keep hair cleaner for longer, work as a heat protectant from hair tools, and keeps hairstyles lasting longer.
You can use this product alone or with other styling products.

Directions:
-apply a generous amount onto clean damp hair from root to hair ends
-comb product through with a brush
-then style your hair however you want (and of course, blow dry first before using a hair straightener or curler)

What do I think of this product?
I saw a youtube video by Bubzbeauty on this product and really wanted to try this!
So since then, I have bought it and used it at least six times. It comes out as a white gel-like cream and smells really nice. =) I do use it from root to tip and this formula does not make my hair feel sticky, greasy, or oily. It is definitely lightweight and does not weigh down my hair.
First I tried to use this alone without any other styling products. I applied it into my hair as instructed, blow dried my hair and curled it with a 1.25 inch curling tongs. I wanted to see how long lasting my curls would be after using only this product. Sadly, I guess because I have a lot of long hair, my curls fell out into loose waves in about 3 hours.
Then, another time I used this product, blow dried my hair and then used my Chi Silk Infusion heat protectant serum on my hair before curling. And after this, my curls lasted much longer. And then the next day, they became curly loose waves which was very pretty too.
So as a hairstyle extender alone, I do not think that this product is sufficient enough. =( I would need another hairstyling product with it to help my curls last longer.
However, sometimes I like to just use this primer alone without styling my hair afterwards. I just spread the product throughout my hair and just let it air dry for the rest of the day. Doing this makes my hair very soft, silky, and smooth. It gives my hair a great shine and makes it smell wonderful! =)

 So this picture above, is the first day with my hair curled. As you can see, it is pretty curly XP.

This is the second day after I slept on my curls and they became nice waves. =) By the way, I'm sorry that I look so pale, I don't have makeup on. X(

I'm sorry but I did not take pictures of my hair using only this primer alone. I was in a hurry at the time and I did not think about taking before and after pictures. You just have to trust me on this. I was pretty dissappointed in how the curls fell and lost their shape so quickly after about 3 hours.
If I can compare it to the pictures above, my fallen curls were flatter and looser than then 2nd day hair (that became waves) in the picture above. So, yeah...I was a bit sad that it didn't work as well for me.

Do I recommend this product?
Perhaps if you have thinner hair, or less hair, or thinned out hair, then I recommend this as a good product to try for the purpose of extending hairstyles and making them last longer. If you have longer, thicker hair, then I don't think it would work as well if you used this primer alone, but with other hairstyling products, yes.
If you are looking to make your hair cleaner for longer, softer, silkier, and shinier, I definitely recommend this product! I love how my hair feels, smells, and looks after using this product without heat styling it. My bf liked it too! XP

Review on "The Body Shop" Rainforest Radiance Spray

Today I will be reviewing "The Body Shop" Rainforest Radiance Detangling Spray

 

 This product costs $14 and contains 8.4 fluid oz or 250 mL of product. You can buy this from "The Body Shop" store or online.

This spray is said to be a stay-in conditioner that will soften and give shine and protection to hair. It is supposed to help detangle hair and has a UV filter without silicones, sulphates, parabens, or colorants.
Directions: Spray onto damp or dry hair and spread product out by brushing hair.

What do I think of this product?

 I do not really tend to get tangled hair. While my hair is long and thin, it does get tangled but as long as I brush it out carefully, I don't have much problem. So, I did not buy this as a detangler but I bought it as a stay-in conditioner to soften my hair and give it shine and protection.
This spray has a really sweet smell to it. I can't really describe it because it's not really flowery or fruity, more like a candy-like smell, but I like it. It is not too strong and it smells sweet and cute! ^_^ I like to spray this after I take a shower and towel dry my hair. When I put stay-in conditioners in my damp hair I tend to put a bit more, because I will loose some product on my brush when brushing. Despite the amount I spray, the product feels very lightweight. It does give my hair a soft shine and makes my hair softer.
However, there is a flip-side to this great spray. If you spray on dry hair and if you spray too much, this can actually make your hair feel really sticky and dry and as a result get tangles. I am not sure why, but I tried spraying this in my hair when it was dry and I started off with spraying not so much. But then my hair did not feel softer or smoother like it usually does after spraying in a stay-in conditioner so I sprayed more. Really bad mistake. =( The more I sprayed the more sticky and dry it got and therefore, it gave me a lot of tangles.

Overall, I have learned that as long as I spray it onto damp hair in moderate amounts, I have no problem with this stay-in conditioner spray at all and it works well for me. I really like that I can use it on damp hair because I do not blow dry my hair and I do not have the time to. So this is great for me who hurries to class every morning and still can use a stay-in conditioner on my damp hair.
It is also great because my hands are kept dry and clean when I spray onto my hair unlike the Aussie Split-End Protector (which is a cream that I need to use my hands to massage into my hair) where I need to wash my hands afterwards.

Do I recommend this product?

For people who want some softeness and shine in their hair, I recommend this product as long as they spray it on damp hair and not dry hair.
But for those looking specifically for a product to detangle their hair, I am not sure, because my hair does not get tangled badly and usually any stay-in conditioner helps detangle it. It probably depends on your hair type and thickness. My hair is thin and I have a lot of it and I guess as a detangler it works fine but I am not sure for other people with different hair types. To be safe, this is probably good for detangling hair in general but if you have some serious knots, perhaps this is not sufficient enough.
However, if you are looking for added softeness and shine, this is a good product to try. =)

Today I will talk about the Aussie Split-end Protector

This product can be found at any drugstore like Walgreens or CVS, I think you can find it at Target and Ulta too. This is a very inexpensive product, only around $4 and it contains 150mL or 5 fluid oz.

Directions:
Place a dime-sized drop in palm and massage through wet hair, no need to rinse.

What do I think of this product?
I really liked the aussie 3-minute miracle deep conditioner, so I decided to try this! I have been using this for at least 2 months.
This is a smooth and creamy product. I love using this after I take a shower because I don't have time to blow-dry my hair everyday, and a lot of stay-in conditioners are used on dry hair. But with this product I can put it in my hair after quickly towel-drying my hair! This is great for everyday use and especially when I am in a hurry to go to school! XD After spreading it into my hair, I brush it out with a wide-tooth comb and then I'm good to go! The wetness of my hair also helps spread out the product faster and easier.
This cream does not feel sticky and has a nice scent. My hair doesn't feel greasy after my wet hair dries and it becomes so nice and smooth with a gentle shine!
A little is all you need so 1 pump is about dime size and I use it first on the ends of my hair and then spread it out to my midsection and the last residue on the top of my head. And I have a lot of hair, it reaches almost to the ends of my ribcage!
I want to grow my hair out very long so this is a great way to give an extra boost of moisture and strength to my hair, especially to the ends of my hair where split ends occur!
Just an important note, this is a split-end protector. Everyone eventually gets splits ends, so this prevents split-ends from happening earlier. If you want to seal your split ends, I am not sure if it does that, and I don't think so. Even if you want to seal split ends, it is only temporary and the split ends will re-open and split higher. It is still important to do a trim every 8 to 12 weeks.

Do I recommend this product?
So now winter is coming and so the air can become cold and dry, damaging our skin and hair. So it is important to keep your hair moisturized and strong. This is a great product for that. I love this product and I highly recommend it! =)
It will strengthen, moisturize, and give some shine to your hair! It is very affordable and easy to find.
It is long lasting and only is a little is needed for all of your hair. Of course if you have a lot a lot of hair, just add a little more.
This is also great if you are a low-maintenance person who doesn't want to deal with complicated products with lots of time and work or really busy person, who doesn't have much time to take care of your hair and like me, no time to dry it but still want to keep it soft, shiny, and strong!
