Recent Outfits~

Hi Everyone!

Here are a few of my most recent outfits. Spring has finally arrived with some weather fluctuation. It can get as hot as 80F and the next day can be 50F. =P So my outfits are a variety of styles depending on the weather. =P

Spring Chic

This is a very feminine spring outfit. Simple and cute. The top looks like a sweater bu it's a very loose knit and not very soft material, but it is great for warmer days when you need ventilation!
It's a kind of easy but classic look, especially with the coat!


Preppy Korean Girl

Sweater: Yesstyle
Collared Shirt: Levi's
Shorts: Lucky Brand
Flat: Nine West

This is a very common and popular style in Korea. It's more of a relaxed but still cute look with a variety of colors and textures. It's very comfortable and great for eating! haha
This sweater I bought online and was very lucky with the quality. It is very soft and warm.
Sorry for the ugly bangs, my hair wasn't working with me that day. =P

This outfit is a little darker, and more mature. More of an older look and more conservative (minus the length of the skirt lol). The top is very light and silk so it's actually great for warm days despite looking on the dark and heavy side. The heels may look tall but they are very comfortable and stable; one of the very few heels that I can walk in all day without a problem!

This look is a little more old fashioned and European looking, haha. Or maybe it's just the top, because that is a British design. =P

My last winter outfits before spring!

Hi everyone!

Here are the last of my winter outfits before spring! Winter is quite long on the East Coast, it actually snowed ice today and was in the 40s, so we're not quite there yet, but hopefully by the end of this month spring will greet us!

What I should have worn for Christmas....probably =P

The sweater was a good choice, usually it's hard to know the material of sweaters and how they feel on your skin when you are buying online, but I got lucky. This is both soft and warm and the knitting is not that loose so there are no gaps or holes in the weave. However, it is a sort of cropped sweater, which I didn't expect (or maybe because I'm taller than most Asians, it would be normal for them but short for me). You can't really tell it's cropped here because the red skirt is actually a high waisted skirt, ha ha! This combo has a very Christmas vibe (hence the title) and I really would have liked to wear this for Christmas actually, but oh well, next time! 

The boots are a low wedge heel that go over the knee. They are very soft and comfortable. Not real leather so it can deal with some rain and salt without taking the trouble to prep it or clean it afterwards. Being a low heel, they are very easy to walk in and (as a person who loves high heels) feel like I'm wearing flat boots.

So yes, I got another coat from Banana Republic. They might as well sponsor me now for all of this! lol Anyway, it was a very good deal. From $180 to $90 and I could not resist XD. It looks very classic too and I like that. =)
The short boots are awesome too! I also got them for sale, I don't remember how much though. They are waterproof and lined with fur! So they keep my feet warm and dry. I've walked through snow in this without too much trouble until the snow gets higher than the shoe, and well, then, yes, my feet will get wet from snow going inside the boot. But where I live, it doesn't snow that much, it only snowed that much once or twice, so I wore a longer pair of snow boots then.

I put effort in my hair that day! haha And I did milkmaid braids! It was snowy and windy those days, and I wanted to still look cute but not with messed up hair! And the bun thing gets boring, so did this! I used professional grade bobby pins which I will talk about in a review soon! And it turned out really well! My hair has grown quite long and now I can play with it a bit more. I got a ton of compliments in and outside of school, haha, definitely a confidence booster.

Yes, here's the peacoat again. =P But it I really like it okay! XD
The sky blue turtleneck bring some lightness and softness into the outfit, starting that color transition towards spring (but not the clothing transition, still gotta wait). It is quite soft and comfortable, a little shapeless, but who care when you want to be warm! I find it to be simple, clean, and chic.
The skirt, don't get it, just saying, it's way too short. I ended up donating it where some child could wear it, because it was so dangerously short! Ended up buying a very similar looking one in Zara for $20 that was much better material and more appropriate length. =P
That scarf will probably be my spring scarf this season! I love it so much. It is actually very very long, but also incredibly soft. I can wrap it around my neck at least 3 times if I want extra warmth and it has a floral print that screams for spring, but with toned down soft gray and white neutral colors that can match most outfits. ^_^

I loved winter; it was beautiful and terrible (mostly the melting and the ice), but I am so ready for spring! When I went back to CA, it was 90F and sunny and awesome! I don't like summers here because they are hot and humid, but spring should be fun, in the 60s and low 70s and not humid yet! I'm looking forward to it.
Hope you liked some of my outfits and it gave you some ideas for next winter, or if you still live in a place like mine that's still cold, then some current cold weather outfit ideas.

Winter to Spring Transitional Outfit!

Hi guys!

Looks like I have lots of free time today. =P Also, don't feel like going to sleep even though I'm tired, haha. I have those days sometimes, do you?

So, this is not an Outfit of the Day, the reason it wasn't was because I returned the shoes in this picture. They did not fit my feet well and hurt. =( But I really liked the look so I took pictures before returning it, of course. =P

Jack Wills is having a ridiculous sale now. It is a British brand that is relatively well known on the East Coast. Usually their stuff is expensive but their sale was super good because they changed designers so the older clothes can't carry the brand name anymore. This is a light summery dress, it was originally $98.50 and I got it for $40. Not bad =P
It's still a little cold here, but it was in the 50sF today and sunny so it felt nice! I pulled a sweater over it to give me some warmth!
These nude heels are so cute! But they're too tight for my toes. =(. They only had full sizes for this particular shoe, I'm sure 7.5 would have been perfect for me, but they didn't have it. Original price $80 and current price is $30. If you have narrow feet and short toes, I recommend this!
I'm still looking for a pair of nude heels, I don't have any! And I thought it looked so cute with black tights!

Now that spring is coming, it's a transition time to spring fashion! So most people tend to switch over to lighter and more pastel colors in their clothes. I thought that pairing a dark dress and tights with some nude heels and a pale sweater was a lovely transition towards spring. Especially with the nude heels! I can't wait to find a pair that works for me. The dress also has tiny white dots which helped break up the darkness of the dress and compliment the sweater better.
The gold chain necklace adds a pop of warmth and shine without being too showy. I love this necklace because I think it is very flexible and I can wear it with many outfits, and the gold gives a warmer feeling.

I think that dresses like these are great for traveling or for making a variety of outfits and looks. You can wear it alone or wear a shirt or sweater over it and make it look like a skirt! Or you could put on a cardigan or a cute vest! Very versatile. =)

Outfit of...Yesterday =P

Hi guys!

I wore this yesterday, but was too busy to post it. Hope you like it!

Yes, I know the stairs look dirty. Sorry if it bothers you. They're just old, not as dirty as the look.

So I wore the belt because the skirt is a little loose around my waist and I was sitting and walking around and I didn't want to deal with constantly tucking my shirt it. That's a pain. =P
The belt does give me more shape and definition, but I think because I am already such a slim person, it makes my waist look a little too skinny.
I also think that without a belt, the outfit looks softer, and younger and so a little sweeter and kinder.

The boots are new! I love them so much! I have been looking for a pair of lace up tall Victorian style boots! These are not true Victorian style because I have a zipper, haha. But I think this makes my legs look so slim! Also great for gothic Halloween costumes =P. They were originally $160 and I got them for $80. They are a perfect fit for my calves and a little loose for my feet, because I have relatively large calves for my foot size (darn you sports), but the looseness doesn't cause any pain or walking problems.

The coat is a new favorite as well! It was originally around $200 but I got it for about $75! Post-Christmas shopping is the best! I think this coat is decently warm but still looks modern, professional, and slimming. I hate puffy coats and jackets, my cousin once told me he thought they looked like garbage bags and now I think of that everytime I see one. XP Sorry, it's stuck in my head now.

Currently it's around the 30s (in F) where I live and I have gotten pretty used to the cold. Especially my legs don't seem to care very much as long as I am warm up top! However, if you live in a colder place or get cold easily, perhaps you might want to layer up more with thick leggings or another inner layer, etc.

I know that this isn't some people's style but maybe you can get some good ideas out of this for yourself. Especially if you are young, be bold! Try new things! You never know whether it will look good or if you like it if you don't! I don't care what others think of me and I wear whatever I want. XD

Outfit of the Day!

Hi Everyone!

I'm back on the East Coast! Left LAX at 7pm, stopped in Dallas, Texas at 12am, left Texas at 6am, and arrived at my place at 10am. Yes, not a lot of sleep involved. =P

Happy New Year Everyone! Have fun and stay safe, don't want to see you in the hospital or as a case study in class. =P

This is what I wore today!

Navy Jacket: Hollister
Gray turtleneck: Express
Maroon cami: Forever 21
Red skirt: street market in Taiwan
Tool skirt: COLZA (bought in Japan)
Gray tights: Uniqlo
Long knee-high black socks: Uniqlo Heattech
Boots: Yesstyle

So, the turtleneck is a little short for me. I have a long torso and uh, my mom put it in the washer and dryer which made it shrink a little =P. So that's why I wore that maroon cami, to layer and keep me warmer as well as not show my tummy. But I love the high collar of the sweater (or jumper if you are from the UK) and the bell sleeves. I think it gives a sort of soft and romantic look to the outfit.

Yes I am wearing 2 skirts, no it doesn't feel uncomfortable to me. The tool skirt has a looser elastic band, it was probably made to be layered, like a petticoat. The tool is not cheap, it's decently soft and there's a layer of cloth on the innermost layer which keeps it from being itchy or scratchy. Also, 2 skirts in 40F weather makes it warmer for me. =P
If you don't like wearing layers of skirts, there are skirts with lace or tool just hemmed to the edge of the skirt, that's a very common thing in Asia.
I feel that a layered look with skirts (or fake layering with hemming) gives a plain skirt more style and looks more fun and cute!

The long black socks, fell a little so you can't see them well. But they just barely go over my knee. They are also too big for me in the foot size (even though it's a one size) so it's a good sock to layer over tights or a more fitted pair of long socks. But they are very soft and good for layering.

The boots are of cheap material and if you are a person with larger calves I don't recommend them. These fit my calves but are too big for my foot, about a half or maybe even one size too big. Luckily since it is winter, I wear layers of socks and/or tights so it fits better. But still it is on the loose side and doesn't give my ankles much support which causes ankle pain after walking a lot.

Outfit of the Day and Updates!

Hi Everyone!

Hope you had a great Thanksgiving! (If you live in North America).
Also, it was Black Friday today! Hopefully you guy got some good deals =). (And real deals, not the kind stores try to make it look like it's a good sale but it's not, I hate that) I bought 2 items of clothing, one of them I've been eyeing for a while and I'm so happy that I got it at a reasonable price. I'll wear it in another outfit post.

So sorry I have not be posting  lately. I am in a very difficult class block now and it's eating up my time and my brains. =P

This is what I wore today! (Sorry, I know there are no side views or back views, but there was nothing on my clothes that I felt was significant to show, like a design or something)

I wore this out today. Yes, and if you like to know, it was a high of 42F and a low of 31F today and I felt fine. =P Well, maybe except for my nose and hands, I don't like wearing gloves.
So if you are a person who gets cold easily, you might want to change things up.

This is a more youthful, punky?, rock? look. At least it's more on the edgy and on the playful side. Obviously, today there was no class and that's why I wore this. =P Not sure how the rest of the med and grad students would think of this. Medicine is conservative and my school is also affiliated with a more conservative religion =P.
What I did not take a picture of was the sleeves which have zippers that are parallel to the arm.
The sleeves of the jacket are pretty long and that's how I like them (also keep my hands warm-ish, better than nothing XP)
Also, the belt in front is a fake. It is sewn into the sides of the jacket, closer towards the back. Not important to me, glad I don't have to worry about twisting or folding it when I sit down against something, but if you don't like that, well, I'm telling you about it now, haha.

I recently got the jacket and I love it! The images above also show what it looks like zipped up all the way. Whenever I see a jacket with interesting designs that looks great in a certain way (like not button-uped or not zipped-up all the way), I always make sure to see what it looks like in different ways (fully open, partially or half opened, fulled closed). Because sometimes it can look bad, and then....I don't want it anymore. =P
The jacket itself is actually a size medium, which is surprising because usually a medium of anything in Forever 21 is kind of baggy on me. The lady at the store says the sizes run smaller for this jacket. Also, it still being a little bigger than a small allow me to layer up inside so that I am still able to move my arms freely.

Outfit of the Day! ;D

Hi Everyone!

So, sorry I haven't been in touch with you guys! I have a couple of exams coming up and I've been very busying study. One class only is determined by one exam and the other exam will probably have a higher average so I need to make sure I'm ahead! After that, I have some great things to review for the coming winter, so please be a little more patient! Thank  you =)

This is what I wore today!

This is a much more mature and sophisticated look. Especially when wearing Banana Republic, it's an older women's brand. I'm not saying this for old women okay, But this is for women who are probably in their late twenties and onwards. Granted, I'm not even at my mid twenties, but I'm starting to find more mature clothes more appealing. Maybe I'm just growing up! Or growing old....lol. XP
Anway, this is not a super-tight sweater dress. For my desired profession, I think it would be too much to wear tight clothes top to bottom. Besides, a looser fit lets me eat more! XD I also attend a med school, and sorry, but you are judged by what you wear and we are not here to show off, we are here to learn and learn how to help others. I can still have my sense of style while I'm at school, but in the real world, I'll probably wear even more conserved and simpler things on the job. But if I'm going out to an event, I don't have a problem with wearing what I want as long as it's still appropriate. (yes, sadly I'm not a teen anymore)
If you're in a situation where looks don't matter or you just don't care, you can make it sexier with tight boots or stilettos (or if it's not that cold, bare legs). I chose boots because well, it's colder here now, I'd like to be good looking and comfortable at the same time.
Honestly, I would have preferred dark red (like a maroon, oxblood, or burgundy) tights, but I don't have any, but I wanted to wear something other than black, because I was wearing so much black already. Of course black tights look good with this outfit too, but it's a little too safe and I like more color sometimes.

For those of you who want a more mature and sophisticated look, or want to dress older, maybe this will give you some inspiration!
