Review on Maybelline Color Tattoo 24 Hour Cream Eyeshadow

Hi Everybody!!! XD

Today I will be reviewing 2 of Maybelline's 24 Hour Color Tattoo Cream Eyeshadow:
-Bold Gold
-Bad to the Bronze

I didn't have a good experience with Tough as Taupe because I intended to use it as a dark eyeliner and it appeared a dark taupe in the marketing, but ended up being much lighter than I expected.
However, after much debate, and still hearing and reading good reviews on these cream eyeshadows, I decided to give them another try.

You can buy these cream eyeshadows at any drugstore such as Walgreens and CVS or at Ulta. I got mine at CVS and they were selling buy 1 get one 50% off. The price of a single cream eyeshadow is about $8 and it contains 0.14 oz or 4 grams of product.

Bold Gold
What do I think of this product?
Bold Gold is a very pigmented glittery strong gold color. It is easy to use and easy to blend out with your fingers. It is a very beautiful shimmery gold and the cream shadow lasts for a long time without creasing or smudging. However, it does crease a little at the end of the day for me. I have swam with this at the beach in Hawaii and the gold stays but gets smudged down to the lower lashline. Which doesn't bother me that much, but just saying in case you  were wondering.
If you just put it on your eye lids (and not too high!), it gives a beautiful warm shimmer or you can put it on the inner corners of your eyes to warm up and brighten up your eyes.
This is a wonderful all over lid color for summer, a nice warm color for fall, and ultimate holiday color for winter!
I have been using this almost everyday, interchangeably with Bad to the Bronze, over the summer and it is such a quick and easy way to do my eye makeup. =)
Swatches will be shown at the end of this post!

Bad to the Bronze
What do I think of this product?
This is a pigmented shimmery warm bronze and very beautiful. It compliments all skin tones and the shimmer is not as powerful as Bold Gold, giving a softer shimmer look. It blends and applies easily. It is a long lasting eyeshadow cream but for me, it also creases at the end of the day. Probably because i have very oily eyelids.
I like this one a bit more than Bold Gold because it is not as intense and is more wearable for everday use, but I love both!
Swimming with this, my lids keep the color but it gets smeared to the bottom lashline again.
On the eyelids, this gives a wonderful warm shimmer to the eyes.
It is a great summer eyeshadow and gives a wonderful warm touch in fall. I have been using this with Bold Gold the entire summer and it works great! I can't wait to use this for fall too!

Swatches will be shown at the end of this post!

Do I recommend any product?
Yes! I definitely recommend both of these 2 cream eyeshadows: Bold Gold and Bad to the Bronze. They work great on any skin color, are versatile and can be worn at anytime. They really warm up and brighten the eyes and I get many compliments! ^_^ They are easy to use, blend easily, and are long lasting. If you have very oily eyelids like me, they will crease at the end of the day, but it is easy to fix and blend them in the bathroom. Even if it creases, it is not that visible, so most people won't notice. They can be found at any drustore and online, and a little goes a long way. You don't need a lot for your lid and the price is very affordable.

Edit: I have realized that if I put on too much cream, it does tends to crease more. However, if I apply less and spread it out well, it will still have good pigmentation and not crease! Yay! XD

Here are my swatches!

As you can see, they are very shimmery and strongly pigmented colors. They blend out well and evenly.

So I hope you liked this review! If you have any questions or comments, feel free to write in the comment box below. =) Thank you for reading and have a nice day!

  2. I have been reading your reviews all morning. How wonderful you took time to test each of the products that you reviewed and gave your detailed opinions on them. I am learning how to do eye make up for everyday work life and also the occasional stage appearance. Can I use these tattoo creams without any other eye make up?

    1. Thank you! I'm glad you like my reviews! ^_^
Of course! I am a pretty simple and low-maintenance person so I often use Bad to the Bronze only on my eyelids, blend it out with my fingers for a soft and warm look, and then I put on my eyeliner and I'm out the door! =P
