Review on SANA Nameraka Wrinkle Eye Cream ;)

Welcome to the beginning of the week! I have an exam on Monday next week, so personally, I want the days to go by slower =P

Today I am reviewing the SANA Nameraka Wrinkle Eye Cream!

Yes, I know the title of the label says "facial cream" that is a mistake, just continue reading and you will see "eye cream"

This product costs $13-16 and contains 25 grams of product. I bought this at Mitsuwa but you can buy this on Amazon for free shipping here. It is said to moisturize the eye area and prevent and combat fine lines and wrinkles. (Or that's what the sign on the shelf said in English, I don't know how to read Japanese =P)

What do I think of this product?
So, I stopped using eye creams a while back, probably half a year to a year ago, because I did not feel that they were very useful or produced significant results. Significant results meaning, enough improvement in hydration, fine lines (and future wrinkles I guess, I'm not old enough) for it to be my money's worth. Eye creams/serums/lotions are expensive O_O. They must be one of the most expensive specialty skincare products I have ever seen. So, if I didn't think it was worth it, I would use my money for other things, as a better investment.
However, starting this summer. I started to get dryness around my eyes. I'm not sure why. My home is in California and it was a particularly hot and dry summer this year (having a lovely drought at the moment), and perhaps that contributed to it. It not only felt dry, it looked dry too. My mom asked me if my eyes were okay, because apparently she could see more fine lines and dry skin. Or maybe she was just being a mom. =P
Either way, I don't like feeling dryness around my eyes, the tightness of the skin and irritation from dryness are not comfortable and not pretty looking.
I was looking around Marukai and picked this up because this was a store recommendation and I tried the sample and it was very smooth and hydrating. (This is the great thing about Asian stores, they have a sample product that anyone can go and try, even foundations and primers). So, I tried it out over the summer, and I love it. =)
If you read the ingredients list you can find a form of retinol in it as well as glycerin. Retinol helps with fine lines and wrinkles and glycerin locks moisture in. I usually dislike products with retinol in them, because I have sensitive skin and it always gets red and feels irritated when I use retinol. But this product had a low concentration/amount of retinol (rules of ingredients, if you didn't know, the first on the list, is in the greatest amount, and then it goes down as the list continues) so I did not have a negative reaction to the product at all! Also, it is fragrance free.
The product is a squeeze tube with a very very fine tip/nozzle. It allows you to control and distribute the amount of product you want very well, and easily. As seen in pictures below:

This product did a great job of moisturizing the area around my eye. I used to use it everyday over the summer, and now I use it every other day. I'm trying to make the product last longer. XP It has also decreased my fine lines to a certain extent. That doesn't matter as much to me as hydrating my skin, because keeping the skin properly moisturized (with sunscreen everyday) is the best way to prevent and soften fine lines and wrinkles in my opinion.

Do I recommend this product?
If you have sensitive skin, I recommend this product. =) Also, to anyone who is looking for something to give you good hydration and help with fine lines! I recommend applying this only at night before going to bed though, because retinol makes skin sensitive to sunlight. You can put sunscreen on over it, but I would not risk that, especially since I've had sunscreens that worked for my face, but irritated the skin around my eyes. T_T

Review on "First Aid Beauty" Ultra Repair Instant Oatmeal Mask!

(I was a vampire last year and I guess this year...so boring....but I don't want to waste the money I used to buy last year's equipment!)

Today I am reviewing "First Aid Beauty"'s Ultra Repair Instant Oatmeal Mask

This item contains 56.7 grams or 2.0 oz of product. It costs $22 at Sephora but $9.45 on Amazon with Prime shipping. This mask is said to nourish, rejuvenate dry dull skin. It is recommended to use 2-3 times per week for dry or distressed skin. It is said to be allergy tested, fragrance free, and safe for sensitive skin.

Directions: After cleansing your face, apply a generous layer over the face. Wait for 10 minutes and then rinse off.

What do I think of this product?
So buying at Sephora is not an option for me. $22 is too expensive (for me) for such little product. That's why I bought it on Amazon!
I think is a wonderful mask! The product comes out in a thicker paste form with pieces of oatmeal in it. It does not irritate my skin in any way. It does have a smell but it is a natural oatmeal smell, no fragrances added. The mask does a great job of reducing redness and hydrating my patches of dry sensitive skin. It also makes my skin feel so nice and soft! X)
I do wish that the container had more product. I was only able to use it for about 6 times and then it was gone. I even tried applying a thinner layer than recommended, but it was still used up quickly. I also felt that the container itself was not filled up as much because I could feel myself squeezing air when I was dispensing the product.
Despite how little product there was, I do think this formula is amazing and is great for anyone's skin. Even if your skin is not dry or dull (or you say that it is oily), this is a great way to help your skin calm down from redness, irritation, and relax and rejuvenate the skin. Just don't buy it at Sephora! XP

Do I recommend this product?
I highly recommend this product to be bought at Amazon! It is a great mask and will definitely benefit those of you with combination dry sensitive skin, or if your skin has a tendency to get red, irritate, or dry easily. Also great when you are traveling to very dry environments.

Review on "My Beauty Diary" Winter Brightening Mask!

It's March! Spring is here! yay! =D

Today I am reviewing the "My Beauty Diary" 2-Step Winter Bright Pack Olive Leaf Mask!

This product costs about $15-17. You can buy this online at Sasa or possibly at Amazon. Because I bought this 3 months ago, I forgot where I got it...Sorry X(. But the "My Beauty Diary" store or Maneki Neko stores in Los Angeles will probably have it.
This set of masks contains 8 masks paired with 8 moisturizing gels.
It is said to moisturize, brighten, and rejuvenate the skin from water loss.
Directions:
1) unfold mask and fit it onto your face
2) let it rest on your face for 20-30 min.
3) remove the mask and massage any remaining serum with your fingertips until it is absorbed
4) apply Shea Butter Creamy Gel onto face and don't rinse off

What do I think of this product?
I have used this serum and moisturizer set once a week for two months. The Olive Leaf Mask is a paper mask packed with serum. As with all "My Beauty Diary" masks they are durable, don't tear, and have a lot of product. The scent reminds me more of green tea than olives...don't know why haha =P. But the smell is not strong or sharp, and does not irritate my eyes or nose. The mask and serum do not irritate or redden my sensitive skin.
The mask does a wonderful job of moisturizing my skin and I feel soothed and refreshed after using it. It definitely helps re-hydrate my face, especially when winter can be colder and drier. Also, it improves my complexion and makes my face brighter! =)
After the mask I apply a generous layer of the Shea Butter Creamy Gel. The gel does not irritate or redden my sensitive skin.
The gel may be a little sticky to some people. It is not too thick but it may feel a little heavy or sticky during application and can give an oily appearance. I personally don't mind this, because I use this winter bright pack at night before I go to bed. So, no one sees me haha. Besides, I like to use the most out of the gel and let my skin absorb it overnight when I am asleep!
The Shea Butter Creamy Gel does have that classic shea butter smell. If you like shea butter, then great! If you don't like it, hmm, well, you may not like how this smells XP. It did smell a little strong to me at first, but it was not sharp or unpleasant so I got used to it quickly.
Just keep in mind that this gel is a very intense moisturizer. Don't worry, it won't clog your pores or cause acne. I have never had that problem. It is just a strong emollient moisturizer and is great for the dry parts of my combination skin.

Do I recommend this product?
Yes! I recommend this mask pack! This is great if you have dry skin or if you skin tends to get dry in the winter. It worked fine for my combination sensitive skin, so I don't think that there will be problems for most people.
If you are wondering if this mask pack is only supposed to be used during winter or for winter, don't worry about it. This is just a mask pack with stronger moisturizing properties than most, so that when winter comes, the dry cold air tends to dry out the skin more than normal. This mask is a remedy to winter skin problems, but if you have very dry skin, you probably don't have to only use this in winter, whenever you want is fine I'm sure. =P

Review on "The Body Shop" Vitamin E Eye Cream!

I hope for those in the USA, had a great 3 day weekend =). I had a wonderful weekend with my bf and now I'm back for work and school. =P

Today I will be reviewing "The Body Shop" Vitamin E Eye Cream

This product costs $18. I got mine at "The Body Shop" store but you can definitely find it online as well. It contains 15mL or 0.5 fluid oz of product and I have been using this product for about 2 months.

What do I think of this product?

I decided to try this after I thought "The Body Shop" Aloe Eye Defense was not hydrating enough for my skin. The consistency is very thin and smooth. It is easy to massage into and around the delicate skin around the eyes. It does not feel oily or sticky. This product does not irritate my sensitive skin in any way and feels soothing. 

I think this does a better job than the Aloe Eye Defense in terms of hydrating and moisturizing my skin. My skin does not feel as dry afterwards, but sometimes it can get a little dry, and I will apply a bit more. It helps with moisturization, and fine lines but does not do anything for me for puffiness and dark circles. I kind of expected this because cream-based eye products are not as penetrating and intense as a serum, so it wouldn't do much for eye puffiness and dark circles anyway.

The skin around my eyes easily absorbs the Vitamin E eye cream and does not form little balls of cream as if it was solidifying like the Aloe Eye Defense. I can layer and apply more without worrying about rubbing the cream off!
Overall, I really like it. I just wish it wasn't that expensive, because this product will only last about 2 months for me and I use it twice a day, every morning and night. So, a year's cost is about $120! O_O Which is like...wow....what a use of money. =P I would like to try something more affordable, hopefully!

Do I recommend this product?

If you do not mind the cost, I do recommend this product for any skin type especially if your skin tends to be dry and if you want to prevent fine lines.
Overall, I think it is a pretty good eye cream for dry skin and fine lines. If you are looking for something to reduce puffiness and dark circles though, this is not the product for you.

Review on Shiseido Perfect Whip and Perfect Milk facial cleansers

It is now spring break for me, and it's called making up sleep time! haha XD, well, i hope so lol

Anyway, I had to make a review on these 2 cleansers because they are AMAZING!!

I was recommended these 2 product by a couple of friends, and they have worked wonderfully.


This is the Shiseido Perfect Whip:

This is a soft squeezable bottle.
It is a Japanese product and everything is in Japanese, which means I can't read it...
but it's 120 grams
It's formula is made so that the cleanser's substance is able to clean deep into pores, taking out all the dirt and impurities. Think of large circles over a pore, that can't get into a pore, and then think of micro circles over a pore than can get into a pore. Basically, it's an excellent cleanser that gets all of the pores and small and hard to reach places.
It says foam because you can lather it into a thick and creamy foam!

I love this product because a little goes a long way. I just put a pea size into my wet hands and in seconds after rubbing my palms a rich white soft lather is formed which is massaged onto the face.
I have used the Perfect Whip for at least half a year, it is amazing. It makes my face feel so clean and soft! I can use it anytime, even after exfoliation and it won't irritate or redden my very sensitive skin!


This is the Shiseido Perfect Milk:

It is 150mL, so a bit more than Perfect Whip and is also all in Japanese.
I have asked a friend to translate and if you see the 2 phrases with oval circles, the top one says it's a facial cleanser, and the bottom says it's a makeup remover!
The container is a harder, clear bottle.
Don't worry about being unable to squeeze all of the product out, because you don't have to!!

It's call Perfect Milk because the cleanser's consistency is watery but smooth and soft, kind of like milk! haha
This can also be worked up into a lather very easily and you only need a small amount, i'd say about a little less than the size of a quarter.


The Perfect Milk is also great for my skin! I feel very hydrated and clean after using and it does not irritate me in any way, with or without exfoliation.
It's makeup removing properties are great! Effortlessly washes off make up and I don't feel dry afterwards.
I have used the Perfect Milk for about 3 months and I use it almost everyday, and I've only used 1/4th of the bottle!


Do I recommend these products?
Definitely!!!! Both of these products are amazing! I have and use both!
Not many people know about these products because it is all written in Japanese and hard to trust if you can't read it. Sometimes they have English translated labels stuck on the back over the Japanese.
But they are definitely worth a shot!


I use the Perfect Milk more often nowadays because even though I have makeup remover, this does a much better job and it's 2 in one! a cleanser and a makeup remover!
But I switch these cleansers back and forth so my skin won't get too accustomed to one of them.


Where can I get them?
You can find it in Japanese and most likely in Korean stores for about $10-$15 each.
Mitsuwa, Marukai sell them for $15 each but the Korea store, Zion, sell them for $10 each, which is what I go for haha.
I'm pretty sure you can find them on Amazon too, I just live near these stores so I just get them there.


I really really like both of these cleansers, they are definitely a staple for me.
I love using them after exfoliation because they don't irritate my skin or after using acne cleansers because acne cleansers tend to make my skin dry and these are great hydrating cleansers.
